RUM FLAVORED CAKE

1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 box Duncan Hines Golden Butter Cake Mix
1- 3 oz. vanilla instant pudding mix
3 eggs
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Crisco oil
1/2 cup rum-flavored water using 3/4 bottle rum flavoring with enough water to make 1/2 cup

Grease 2 or 3 loaf pans lightly and sprinkle nuts evenly on bottom of each pan. Combine cake mix, pudding mix, and water. Mix well. Pour in oil and rum-flavored water and mix thoroughly. Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Pour into pans.
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour if using tube pan; bake at 325 degrees for 40-45 min. if using smaller pans.

Glaze:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup rum-flavored water

Combine all ingredients in sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Cook for 2 or 3 minutes. Prick warm cake with toothpick and pour glaze over cake. Leave cake in pan for 30 minutes.
