BEEF STROGANOFF

Trim fat from 1 lb. round steak and cut into chunks. Put flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder into a paper bag and mix. Put steak in bag and coat. Brown meat in heavy skillet, using 2 tablespoons shortening. Pour 1 can beef broth and 1/2 can water into pan with steak. Add sliced onions and 1 can mushrooms. Simmer for 3 hours. Right before serving, add 2 tablespoons sour cream and blend. Serve over noodles.
