In Feb. of this year after constantly trying to find a Job he hired me. The Companies name when it started was Summit Enterprises. There were many times he only slept for three hours just because he was frustrated that he couldn't afford to pay me because he wasn't being paid by the contractors we work for. We have already dropped three bad contracts that haven't paid and replaced them with others. Yet finding out that they haven't paid us either. WE have changed our name to Breath Of Life with Summit Sight and Sound being a branch under the Wings of Breath Of life. Larry has started taking his wife's tips to pay for food to feed the homeless. Not even having much to feed his family that much. He every now and then out of his wife's tips has been paying me $20.00 for one week. He now openned a coffee house where he has free coffee for the poor. He has started as well a work and witness with a couple orphans. Who understand that they may not get paid but that it's something to do that creates relationships as well. The orphans that are working with Breath of life have parents that Said they don't want them. These teens haven't done drugs, smoked cigarettes, or used illegal drugs. The Girl orphan all she has done was an attempt to commit suicide trying to get away from the pain. Larry has already comforted her. Tries to feed the poor on Saturday in a park where the government closed him out. The coffee house that he openned is free only do to him and me working for the Land Lord doing enough odd maintenance jobs to pay for rent. He is currently working on opening a karaoke night and Jam session night in the same building on different nights of the week. The only rule he has is don't cuss, don't drink, don't smoke, don't do drugs and we'll be fine. He just took a truck he wanted to rebuild and traded it in for vehicles so we can continue to minister. He's working on finding more volunteers right now. Even more who want a job to do that aren't expecting that much money. Understanding that our contractors don't pay us. All he requires is that any worker who comes helps feed the poor. He wants to start a Church cause so many have asked when that is going to start. His becoming favorite store is Safeway because they are giving a 10% discount for food used to feed the poor. The dealer for the vehicles that He recieved from the trade was two vehicles for the truck and $500.00. Yet still he looked at them being used for ministry. He said that allows him to stay longer ministering while his wife is at work. He don't have to worry about getting home early is his thoughts. He started this all because he knew my heart. "Give me food and a place to stay and I'll minister full time". He wants to grant that but can't because he can't afford it. In fact I can't even afford my self because my birthday money will be taking orphans out to have fun. Not being used on material but relationships. The building we have isn't big enough or proper for what we want to do. This is both of our hearts dream for this ministry. A game room with 15 or more computers (we only have two and enough room for two), A conference room (which right now is a computer/storage room), a Cafe that seets 50 (Cap seats 18 and that's cramming), a Coffee and snack bar (right now is two round tables and a make shift counter), a gaming room (5 playstations or something like that{we have none}), a Stage for with enough room for a band concert (we only have a flood an band is crammed), Tele promters for Karaoke (we have tv screens but not the cables and no Christian Karaoke disks {in fact we only have 5 karaoke disks that have secular music}), a place to have church separate from cafe or coffee house (non at the moment) Offices (office area is Computer and storage room), a bigger storage area (storage comfort isn't there), closer to the park so even when park is closed we can feed the homeless (our building is like three or more blocks from the park right now) a trailer to pull more food to the park. This is our dream and we can't afford this at all. We just wish we could but the only way is a miracle. And to think all this hassle came from me stating my most joyous moment was feeding the ministering to the poor. John Back to Our Earth Angels- Page 41 |
